Let the Trumpets Sound!!!!!

Great news all around this week at The Rotherhithe Shed!!

First of all, we had the wonderful news that shedist Alan Chadborn has been given A Southwark civic award, "The Liberty of the Old Metropolitan Borough of Bermondsey"

He was nominated as a member of the community who has made an outstanding contribution to local life. As we know in the Shed, Alan has been a key member and has involved us with his work making toys at Surrey Docks City Farm, renovating tools to send overseas with "Tools with a Mission", and the Pecan Time Bank "Bring and Fix" at Elephant and Castle.

In addition to his time with the Shed, Alan works with numerous local organizations such as the Stave Hill Ecological Reserve, The Salmon Youth Centre, The Galleywall Nature Reserve, and his local Church.

The other wonderfull news is that The Rotherhithe Shed will be reopening on Mondays starting Monday 16 May!!!!

This is due to additional funding from the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Neighborhoods Fund and a generous private donation! The London Bubble and Time and Talents our parent organizations plan to continue to find funding to keep us open two days a week.

Come and join us on Monday 16 May

(10am-2pm) to enjoy our re-opening. You could make the world's first wooden trumpet on our treadle-powered lathe!

Hope to see you soon!
